CHRI offers internship opportunities, round the year, in each of our programme areas of work – Access to Information, Access to Justice – Police Reforms and Access to Justice – Prison Reforms. Click below to learn more about our programmes.

Access to Information

Students get the opportunity to acquire learning in new areas of governance which are not covered by their course work. Students currently enrolled full-time in graduate or postgraduate studies in law or social sciences are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to postgraduate students. Undergraduate students who have completed at least two years of course work will also be considered.

Internship tasks may be carried out at our office in New Delhi, or remotely, depending on our requirement. Internships can be full-time or part-time:

  • Full-time internships are for a minimum of one month, 8 hours a day, Monday – Friday. 
  • Part-time internships are for 2-6 months, with a minimum commitment of 12 hours a week. 

Please note, no allowances or stipends will be provided to student interns.

Volunteer with Us

CHRI offers volunteering opportunities, round the year, in each of our programme areas of work – Access to Information, Access to Justice- Police Reforms, Access to Justice- Prison Reforms and ancillary activities such as media, communications and outreach, and fundraising. Click on the tiles above to learn more about our programmes.Full-time volunteering opportunities are available for:
  • Graduates or postgraduates in law, social sciences or other relevant disciplines, interested in gaining knowledge and experience in our chosen areas of work, and are not currently enrolled in any full-time academic course or employment. 
  • Graduates or postgraduates in journalism, mass communications, multi-media, graphic design, video editing and related fields, interested in learning to apply their skills to the social sector.
Full-time and part-time volunteering opportunities are available for:
  • mid-career or senior professionals interested in issues of accountability, transparency, access to information, police reform and prison reform with experience and skills in research, advocacy, media, communications and outreach, technology for the social sector and fundraising.
